Larry Spelts at Your Service

Since 1990, Larry Spelts has been a pioneer and a leader of the independent boutique hotel movement. He has developed, opened and operated dozens of successful boutique hotels focused primarily in the upper-upscale and luxury scales of the industry. He has operated hotels in Relais & Chateaux, managed the Carlyle Hotel with Rosewood Hotels, and worked with developers, many who were first-time hotel developers, to conceive, develop, and open dozens of boutique hotels -- mostly independent but some soft brands (Autograph, Curio, etc.). Larry studied in Florence, Italy as a fine arts student in undergrad and has refined his business acumen with an MBA from the prestigious Stern School of Business at New York University. In addition to hotels, Larry has built four boutique hotel-focused management companies since 2009. Today, he is a partner in three independent boutique hotels and a hotel management company.
